Schedule for Rabbi Itzchak Marmorstein

Rabbi Itzchak Marmorstein is available for events in your community.

"The Rabbi has a remarkable ability to introduce and weave Jewish thought and reasoning behind the event to both Jews and non Jews alike. I've seen him attend at a bar mitzvah and other events and the response from family and friends was amazement and appreciation.  With humility, he enhanced the experience for all.

I've been very moved by his incredible multi media Rav Kook poetry teaching and to study Torah with him is a profound experience.
Yet all the while he stays true to the fundamentals and passion of Judaism. As in Mila Yomit, he presents a great depth of understanding."

A Love for All Existence:The Song of Rav Kook
A Week-long Workshop -August 7–13, 2006
at Elat Chayyim, The Jewish Retreat Center
www.jewishretreatcenter.org or 800-398-2630 ext. 228
Led by: Rabbi Itzchak Marmorstein

Rabbi Avraham Itzchak HaCohen Kook (1865-1935) is considered by many to be the most significant Jewish mystic sage of this epoch. He taught that the essence of Judaism 'is the passion to overcome separatism, the severance of the human from God, human from human and human from nature. It is the passion to perfect the world through awareness of our links to all else in existence.'

Rav Kook's life and teachings exemplified living in holy relationship with the All and all. In this workshop, we will deeply enter his teachings on cultivating the path of love to all existence both intellectually and spiritually. His poetic writings in their original Hebrew (with translation provided) will guide our deliberations. Music and Ophanim meditation will enable our spiritual processing of his Torah.

"I am bound to the world,
All creatures, all people are my friends,
Many parts of my soul
Are intertwined with them,
But how can I share with them my light?"
- Rav Kook

In our class together, we will strive to create a holy circle to receive this light.

This is an afternoon class. Sign up this and a morning class and you'll save 50% on either course.

HASHEM OR LI-The Divine is Light For Me:
The Ecstasy of Rav Kook

Rabbi Itzchak Marmorstein

"Human being,-observe the light of the Divine presence that pervades all existence. Observe the harmony of the heavenly realm. See how it pervades every aspect of the material and spiritual life which is before our eyes of flesh and our eyes of spirit." (Orot HaKodesh-Lights of Holiness, 1:83)

People close to Rabbi Abraham Itzchak HaCohen Kook (1865-1935) described that he was in a consistently illuminated state of Divine cleaving. His extraordinary and revolutionary teachings, writings and poetry all flowed from this wellspring of connection. In our circle together, we will enter into his writings and poetry on various aspects of "Awakening To The Divine Imprint." Hebrew text with translation will allow us to meet his knowledge as directly as possible. Meditation will be included to help us internalize and integrate these Orot HaKodesh-Lights of Holiness.

Let us come to experience that:
"Waves from the higher realms act on our souls ceaselessly. Our spirit is stirred by the sounds released by the violin of our soul, as it listens to the echo of the sound emanating from the divine realm."

Let us come to know that:
"Radiant is the world soul,
Full of splendou
r and beauty,
Full of life,
Of souls hidden,
Of treasures of the holy spirit,
Of fountains of strength,

Of greatness and beauty."
